3 year old screenings will be Friday, September 12, 2025. Parents of three year olds that live in the Warner School District, please contact Mrs. Lane at 225-6194 to schedule a time on September 12th. THERE WILL BE NO KINDERGARTEN OR JUNIOR KINDERGARTEN ON SEPTEMBER 12th DUE TO SCREENINGS.

Anyone looking for some part-time work during the school year...the YDC/Warner Afterschool Program is looking for more staff members.

What happened to the month of July, it seems to have disappeared before we knew it. None the less, we are back with our second summer rendition of the MMMR. We have some new equipment, new faces and more help. Always, still a work in progress...have some patience we may eventually get stuff figured out.

Just a reminder on the Fall Sports Meeting tonight in the Warner Arena. The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM. Please bring completed physicals to the meeting. Waiver copies will be available for distribution as well.

Senior banner pictures will be held prior to the meeting as well beginning at 6:15 in the arena.

We had 8 of our soon to be seniors attend the Leadership Academy in Sioux Falls this week. Way to go be great, kids!!

Welke gym/Lunchroom floors:
The Welke Gym will be waxed on Friday, August 1st and will be unavailable for the rest of the summer at that time.
The lunchroom floors will be waxed on Wednesday, July 30th which means the offices will be closed the rest of the week. Offices will reopen Monday, August 4th!

Just a reminder on concussion testing tomorrow. and Thursday 8:00 - 10:00. Due to waxing, this will take place in the Arena lobby. Please have Sway app downloaded on a phone.

Thank you to Brett and Sandy Bierman for their donation to the Warner School Library in honor of their grandchildren Blake, Sydney and Avery Bierman. The children will have a great time reading these new books.

The first allowable practice dates for Fall Sports is listed below:

Football (7th - 12th) - Thursday August 7th

Cross Country (6th - 12th) - Monday August 11th

Volleyball (6th - 12th) - Thursday August 14th

Cheerleading - TBD (most likely begin week of August 4th)

Just a friendly reminder that if you have library books out, you may drop them off in the box located in the entryway of the Welke Gym. Thank you and have a great summer.

Please see the following information provided by the SD High School Activities Association. With the Summer Moratorium put into place starting tomorrow (Tuesday), The Warner School Athletic Facilities will be closed July 1-7. There will be no gym time available until Tuesday, July 8th. Have a great 4th!!

Summer Moratorium of Activity
a. From July 1 through July 7 annually, no contact may take place between student-athletes and their coaches. These periods shall be known as the summer “moratorium.” This restriction on activity includes any team contact, individual contact, private lesson, open gym or other situation wherein coaches will interact with student-athletes in an
activity setting for any SDHSAA-Sanctioned Activity wherein coaching, guidance or supervision is
provided.
b. Coaches must abstain from any activity with their student-athletes during this time that could fall under
the auspices as previously listed in this section.
i. Clarification One – Coaches cannot schedule any team activity for their players, including camp
participation, open gyms, conditioning programs or outside entities providing instruction, during
the July 1 through July 7 moratorium period.
ii. Clarification Two – Coaches must make every attempt to not participate in any situation that
could fall under the definitions as listed previously in this section.
iii. Clarification Three – Coaches and Schools must refrain from allowing non-school personnel
access to facilities, equipment or resources during the moratorium.

Concussion Testing will be held for athletes in grades 6th-12th on the following dates: Boys - Tuesday July 22nd and Thursday July 24th (8:00 - 10:00 AM both days) Girls - Tuesday July 29th and Thursday July 31st (8:00 - 10:00 AM both days) If a boy or girl cannot make it on their respective days, they can go to the other sessions. If none of the sessions work for the athlete to attend, please contact Mr. Severson at tyler.severson@k12.sd.us and we will arrange another time.
